Governor Lombardo Announces Appointment of Tina Talim to the Eighth Judicial District Court

LAS VEGAS, NV – June 14, 2024

Today, Governor Joe Lombardo announced Tina Talim as his selection to the Eighth Judicial District Court, Department XIV.

Talim, who currently serves as the Team Chief of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Unit in the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, immigrated to the United States from India as a young child. Talim is the first South Asian person to hold a judicial position in Nevada.

“Tina has nearly two decades of experience working in the Clark County District Attorney’s Office and her expertise will be a valuable asset to the Eighth Judicial District Court,” said Governor Joe Lombardo. “I’m confident that Tina will execute her duties as judge faithfully and serve her fellow Nevadans with integrity.”

“I am grateful to Governor Lombardo for this appointment and deeply honored to serve as a judge in the Eighth Judicial District Court,” said Judge Talim. “This appointment is not only a personal milestone, but it serves as a testament to the broadening representation within our judicial system. I look forward to serving our community from the bench.”

In her current role, she has prosecuted numerous felony drug trafficking cases, while simultaneously serving as the District Attorney's Director of Diversity and Community Outreach. Talim earned her bachelor’s degree from University of California, Los Angeles and her J.D. from the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law.

Judge Talim will begin her term on June 20, 2024.
