Today, Governor Joe Lombardo announced his appointment of Scott Scherer to the Nevada Commission on Ethics.
“I’m pleased to announce my appointment of Scott Scherer to the Nevada Commission on Ethics,” said Governor Joe Lombardo. “Scott brings decades of legal, regulatory, and government experience to this role, and I’m grateful for his willingness to again serve our state on this commission.”
Currently working at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, Scherer was previously appointed as a member of the Nevada Commission on Ethics by the legislature and served as a member of the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Scherer also served as a member of the Nevada Assembly, as general counsel and chief of staff for Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn, and as chair of the International Association of Gaming Regulators. Scherer received his undergraduate degree from The Johns Hopkins University and his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law.
“I was honored to be asked to serve on the Nevada Commission on Ethics again,” said Scott Scherer. “I look forward to using my experience to help the commission uphold the letter of Nevada’s ethics laws with fairness and impartiality.”
The Nevada Commission on Ethics is an 8-member body appointed by the Governor and Legislative Commission to interpret and enforce the provisions of the Ethics in Government Law set forth in NRS Chapter 281A.
