Seal of the State of Nevada

WHEREAS, Las Vegas is heralded as the Sports Capital of the World; and

WHEREAS, from April 28th – 30th, the Silver State welcomes the National Football League’s (NFL) prospects, family members, fans, coaches, managers, and owners to the 2022 NFL Draft; and

WHEREAS, during the 2022 NFL Draft in Las Vegas, thirty-two NFL teams will vie for the top NFL prospects over the course of seven rounds. This year 262 players will be chosen by NFL teams, with the first selection going to the Jacksonville Jaguars; and

WHEREAS, the 2022 NFL Draft will have an estimated $500 million economic impact and bring over 600,000 people to Las Vegas to watch their favorite team’s selections; and

WHEREAS, Las Vegas has accomplished the trifecta for NFL events, as the city has successfully hosted the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl, is currently hosting the 2022 NFL Draft, and will host Super Bowl LVIII in 2024; and

WHEREAS, as the Sports Capital of the World, Las Vegas is the home of the NHL Golden Knights, NFL Raiders, and the WNBA Las Vegas Aces, and in 2023, Las Vegas will host the international Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix; and

WHEREAS, I encourage residents and visitors alike to responsibly enjoy sporting events in the Silver State and to enthusiastically support our teams and sporting events that call Nevada home; truly what happens here, only happens here;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim April 28 - 30, 2022, as days in honor of the
