Seal of the State of Nevada

WHEREAS, strong infrastructure is essential to the health, safety and prosperity of every community in our State; and

WHEREAS, infrastructure investments in our roads and highways, airports, water systems, high speed internet connectivity, cybersecurity, and transit systems help to not only meet the challenges of today but address the successful growth of our State in the future; and

WHEREAS, infrastructure investments provide opportunities for Nevada to achieve its greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets, protect communities and natural resources from the impacts of climate change, and position Nevada to lead the new clean energy economy; and

WHEREAS, the skill, commitment to safety, and talent to design, build and repair our critical infrastructure exists right here in Nevada; and

WHEREAS, the training needed to create a skilled workforce to build a robust network of infrastructure is essential to our State’s future; and 

WHEREAS, investing in infrastructure creates good paying jobs and capital improvement projects serve as the building blocks for our State’s economic diversification; and

WHEREAS, with new opportunities, including through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, Nevada will be able to strengthen our infrastructure for generations to come; and

WHEREAS, through the creation of a new Sub-cabinet on Infrastructure, Nevada will engage its community to collaboratively serve as a competitive force nationwide; and

WHEREAS, Nevada will continue to lead in innovative strategies to grow our economy and achieve our climate goals, while prioritizing equity, union labor, and domestic products

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the week of May 16 - 20, 2022, as

INFRASTRUCTURE WEEK IN NEVADA
