WHEREAS, First Responders Children's Foundation Roll Call of Heroes recognizes all the country's first responders including nurses, EMTs, firefighters, police officers, 911 dispatchers, search and rescue, medical personnel, and other organizations in the public safety sector who selflessly respond to aid the public in the event of an emergency; and

WHEREAS, first responders are in everyone community in America and risk their own safety in the execution of their duties to protect every day; and

WHEREAS, first responders are the first line of defense for the public against all threats, both domestic and foreign; and

WHEREAS, first responders stand ready to come to the aid of the citizens of 24 hours a day; and

WHEREAS, the sacrifices first responders make in their service to their fellow citizens have an immediate, vital, and positive impact on all communities across the country; and

WHEREAS, On First Responders Day and every day of the year, we encourage all citizens to recognize and appreciate the service and sacrifice of first responders who make our communities the best places to live, work, and raise a family; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim October 28, 2022, as

FIRST RESPONDERS DAY IN NEVADA
