
WHEREAS, Nevada recognizes the importance of ensuring children have the financial and medical support of both their parents; and
WHEREAS, the Nevada Child Support Enforcement Program fosters responsible behavior towards children; and
WHEREAS, the Nevada Child Support Enforcement Program emphasizes the child's needs to have both parents involved in their lives; and
WHEREAS, the Nevada Child Support Enforcement Program reduces welfare costs while also being one of the most cost-effective government programs, collecting $3.54 for every $1.00 spent; and
WHEREAS, more than 84,000 children in Nevada were served through the Nevada Child Support Enforcement Program in 2021, in 2021, the Nevada Child Support Enforcement Program collected $201 million; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the month of August 2022, as
CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH IN NEVADA
