WHEREAS, Nevada licensed athletic trainers have a long history of providing quality, evidence-based health care founded on their knowledge and skills acquired through their nationally regulated educational processes and required continuing education courses; and

WHEREAS, athletic trainers provide prevention, recognition, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of acute and chronic injuries and illnesses; health care administration, education, and overall wellness guidance; and

WHEREAS, the essential health care services of athletic trainers are available to Nevada residents through hospitals, colleges and universities, secondary schools, professional and club sports organizations, health and wellness clinics, armed forces, performing arts, public safety sectors, industrial workplaces and other emerging settings; and

WHEREAS, the overall well-being and quality of life of residents depends upon quality, affordable and accessible patient-centered healthcare, including the important services provided by athletic trainers; and

WHEREAS, Athletic Training Month provides an opportunity to raise public awareness of the roles and services administered by athletic trainers and potential health benefits provided by athletic trainers in Nevada;
