WHEREAS, Steve H. Fisher has served the Silver State with distinction and professional excellence since 1998; and

WHEREAS, Steve began his career with the State of Nevada as an Information System Specialist and in 2012 he was appointed as Deputy Administrator of the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services; and

WHEREAS, in that same year, he was called upon to bring Nevada online with the rollout of the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange during the Affordable Care Act implementation, and through that process he showed great skill and leadership; and

WHEREAS, following his success with the Silver State Health Exchange, Steve briefly accepted the role of Director of Programs with the Department of Health and Human Services and in 2014 he accepted the position of Administrator of the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services; and

WHEREAS, during his tenure as Administrator, Steve has created efficiencies within the Division, using Business Process Reengineering concepts, which reduced wait times and increased eligibility accuracy to levels that were recognized at the federal level and increased Nevada's Child Support collections from 37th in the nation to an impressive 8th; and

WHEREAS, never one to shrink from challenges, Steve took the role of Lead Project Manager during the transition of the Division's eligibility system from NOMADS to AMPS, implementing one of the largest technology initiatives within the Child Support system, known as NVKIDS; and

WHEREAS, Steve has demonstrated professionalism, patience, empathy and dependability in his work for the State of Nevada earning respect from his colleagues for his ability to consistently stay calm under pressure and meet difficult challenges; and

WHEREAS, Steve has been an invaluable leader to the people of Nevada, the agencies he worked for, and those who regularly sought his opinions and insight; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada and the Department of Health and Human Services commend Steve on his unwavering dedication and commitment to the people of Nevada and, along with colleagues, friends and family, extend best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim March 1, 2022, as a day in honor of
