WHEREAS, Janet St. Amant was hired by the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Office of HIV in May 1996 as a Clerical Trainee, and several years later she became a Grants and Projects Analyst I; and

WHEREAS, with distinction and professional excellence, Janet served the State of Nevada and its residents for 26 years by providing Nevadans affected by HIV/AIDS the opportunity to attain primary medical care and essential support services through the Ryan White Care Program and HIV Prevention Program; and

WHEREAS, her years of service have been marked by an exemplary dedication to the best interests of this community, and Janet has worked constantly seeking funding sources for the betterment of HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention in Nevada; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada and Office of HIV have significantly benefited because of Janet's leadership in reviewing applications, ensuring compliance with federal requirements, securing federal funding for programs, and monitoring grants; and Janet remained instrumental, and her employment and work ethic served as an exceptional example for all State employees; and

WHEREAS, during her tenure, Janet was recognized by the Department of Health and Human Services Director's Office as Employee of the Year in 2003; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Janet on her outstanding tenure as a dedicated State employee and joins her family, friends, and colleagues in extending sincere appreciation for her dedication, loyalty, contributions, and service to the Office of HIV, and with best wishes, as she begins this new chapter in her life traveling and spending time with her family and friends;
