
WHEREAS, Diane Ward first came to work for the State of Nevada on March 22, 1993, and is retiring after over twenty-eight years of outstanding public service to the State, having served exceptionally in her position as Accounting Assistant; and
WHEREAS, Diane has performed both Administrative Assistant and Accounting Assistant duties for Rural Clinics within the Division of Public and Behavioral Health and been an overall support for both Rural Clinics personnel and those the agency serves. In doing so, Diane has helped improve outcomes for Nevada's families dealing with mental health illnesses; and
WHEREAS, Diane played an integral role in training coworkers on
the use of a newly acquired electronic health record: Avatar. She was one of a select
group of individuals tasked with converting consumer information from the old
system into the new one. Since the initial rollout of the system, Diane has
also played a key role in answering questions and problem-solving with agency
personnel, especially when an error occurred within the system; and
WHEREAS, Diane worked in the Revenue Management Unit (RMU) within the Division of Public and Behavioral Health when that unit was first created to ensure that insurance companies were billed accurately, and consumer statements reflected the exact amount owed. She has continued to work with RMU personnel at the agency level as a resource; and
WHEREAS, Diane has actively participated with other agency personnel in several agency moves. During times of difficulty and unease, she always maintained a positive attitude and had a special dedication for the people of Nevada who were served by Rural Clinics; and
WHEREAS, as Diane now embarks on a new chapter of her life, the Department of Health and Human Services on behalf of its employees and clients extends to Diane Ward its sincere appreciation and gratitude for her over twenty-eight years of commitment to excellence and service to the citizens of the Silver State;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim January 14, 2022, as a day in honor of
DIANE WARD
