
WHEREAS, Religion is complex, powerful and includes more than just one particular tradition. If we search deeper, we shall find that we have more in common than in conflict; and
WHEREAS, the ‘Faith Forum’ is a weekly interfaith dialogue column in the Reno Gazette-Journal, which celebrates 10 years in print on February 11, 2021; and
WHEREAS, contributors of this column include leaders of Christian (various denominations), Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Baha'i, Native American, Unitarian-Universalist, atheist, professors of religion and other leaders of diverse faiths; and
WHEREAS, ‘Faith Forum’ has provided a successful partnership for constructive and respectful dialogue to foster mutual understanding, trust and loyalty in our community; and
WHEREAS, Governor Sisolak commends the multiple other esteemed area faith leaders for their contributions to the RGJ Faith Forum column and joins them in celebrating a successful ten years in print and for their contributions to our community;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim February 11, 2021, as a day in recognition of 10 years of ‘Faith Forum’ in print.
