WHEREAS, Sylvia Terrazas began her state service with the Department of Public Safety, Division of Highway Patrol, as a Clerical Trainee on September 1, 1994 and on April 30, 2021 she will officially retire after 26 years of loyal, diligent, and exceptional public service to the State of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Terrazas served the Department of Public Safety throughout her career, rising quickly in the clerical ranks in the Division of Highway Patrol and the Division of Investigations; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Terrazas was promoted to a supervisor position as a Program Officer 1 in the Evidence Vault in March 2009 within the Division of Highway Patrol; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Terrazas was promoted to Program Officer 2, Manager of the Evidence Vault in July of 2011, in the Director's Office; and

WHEREAS, Sylvia Terrazas served the Department of Public Safety, Division of Highway Patrol with dedication and commitment, and will sincerely be missed, both professionally and personally by all who have had the pleasure to work with her; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Sylvia Terrazas on her outstanding tenure as a dedicated State employee and joins her family, friends and colleagues in extending sincere appreciation for her years of service, with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim April 30, 2021, as a day in honor of
