
WHEREAS, Daria Anne Costa served the State of Nevada with distinction and professional excellence for 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Daria began her career in State service with the State Industrial Insurance System in 1991 as an Account Clerk I, progressing to an Account Clerk II in 1993; and
WHEREAS, Daria promoted to a Management Assistant I with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Division of Conservation Districts in 1993, and in 1995, Daria was promoted to Management Assistant II; and
WHEREAS, in 2000, Daria began working for Carson City as an Accounting Technician II in the Finance Department where she audited, reconciled, and processed accounts payable; and in 2005, Daria was promoted to Department Business Manager for Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space, where she was responsible for managing the department's contracts and a budget consisting of 16 funds; and
WHEREAS, Daria transitioned to a Tax Examiner II in 2017 with the Department of Motor Vehicles and will be retiring as a Program Officer III with the Department where she implemented business process improvements and helped to get various legislative regulations adopted; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada thanks Daria Anne Costa for her years of dedicated service to the citizens and visitors of our great state and offers best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim January 5, 2021, as a day in honor of
