WHEREAS, Colonel Anne K. Carpenter has served the great State of Nevada with distinction and professional excellence for over twenty-seven years. She is the embodiment of a public servant and leader. She is an energetic, effective, visionary organizational leader and a role model committed to making a difference; and

WHEREAS, Anne's unwavering and selfless service started on September 20, 1994, with the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles in Las Vegas; and

WHEREAS, Anne joined the Nevada Department of Public Safety on August 29, 1995, as a Parole and Probation Officer, and upon conclusion of training in Carson City, she was assigned to Southern Command in Las Vegas; and

WHEREAS, Anne was promoted through the ranks serving in both the Highway Patrol and Parole and Probation Divisions. She is considered a highly knowledgeable and respected leader with experience in Traffic Operations, Personnel and Risk Management, Fleet Services, Commercial Enforcement, Special Operations, and General Supervision; and

WHEREAS, in 2019, Anne was appointed as the 17th Chief of the Parole and Probation Division, where she led over six hundred personnel statewide and was instrumental in the creation of several key programs that challenged antiquated processes and helped transform the Division by making it more streamlined and relevant; and

WHEREAS, in 2020, Anne was appointed as the 25th Chief of the Nevada Highway, where she demonstrated executive leadership and managerial oversight for law enforcement operations of nearly six hundred personnel statewide. Anne is a trailblazer making history as the first female Colonel of the Highway Patrol; and

WHEREAS, Anne has served on several Legislative and Governor-appointed committees throughout her distinguished career. She has been recognized for her leadership and achievements is the recipient of multiple awards and is an active executive member of many professional organizations; and

WHEREAS, Anne is a proud graduate of both the University of Nevada, Reno, with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a Master of Arts in Public Administration. She has served the Silver State in the roles of an adjunct professor, coach, mentor, and devoted community servant; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety and the State of Nevada joins with Anne's family, friends, and co-workers in sharing our heartfelt and sincere appreciation for her 27+ years of faithful service to the citizens and visitors of our Silver State. Best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;
