WHEREAS, Colleen Murphy is retiring from the Department of Administration on Friday, April 16, 2021, after 27 years of professional excellence and loyal service to the State of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Colleen Murphy has served the Silver State with dedication since August 1994 when she was first hired as an Administrative Aid at the Water Resources Division of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and in 1997 Colleen then transferred to the DCNR Director's Office, where she was once again promoted, this time to Management Analyst I where she handled multiple responsibilities from financial analysis to legislative coordination to personnel-related duties; and

WHEREAS, Colleen's DCNR career ended in 2006 when she transferred to the Health and Human Services Division formerly known as MH/DS (now a part of Public and Behavioral Health) to be a Management Analyst III, where she ran the Mental Health Medical Services Billing Unit, oversaw caseload analysis and projections, and acted as the Division Revenue Officer (while also keeping her bosses organized); and

WHEREAS, Colleen's better judgment took leave of her in 2012, when she moved to the Budget Division (now known as the Governor's Finance Office) to assume eagle-eyed oversight of budgets within DCNR, Corrections, Administration (including EITS) and other agencies; and

WHEREAS, Colleen bravely left the comfort of the classified service to utilize her years of accumulated expertise to help the Department of Administration by serving as Deputy Director in 2020, only to be confronted with the management challenges, uncertainty, and fear of the COVID-19 pandemic; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Collen Murphy on her outstanding tenure as a dedicated State employee and joins her family, friends, and colleagues in extending sincere appreciation for her years of service, with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;
