WHEREAS, William ‘Bill’ Strong has served the State of Nevada with distinction and professional excellence for 26 years; and

WHEREAS, Bill began his career in state service in 1990 as a Crew Chief for the Nevada Air National Guard Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, in April 1993, Bill changed career paths, moving to the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) and serving as an Eligibility worker; and

WHEREAS, Bill promoted in 1996 to Compliance Investigator, and in 2008 he promoted to Supervisory Investigator, managing the Northern Investigations and Recovery Unit for eight years; and

WHEREAS, Bill took on the responsibility of interim Operations Manager for the statewide operation of Investigations and Recovery in July 2016 and was named Chief of Investigations and Recovery on September 26, 2016; and

WHEREAS, in August 2015, Bill was awarded the State of Nevada Good Government, Great Employees Award by Governor Brian Sandoval for his merit submission for inmate matches, which resulted in cost savings in excess of $2,500,000 during the pilot project; and

WHEREAS, throughout his career, Bill has provided training for sixty-eight of the past sixty-nine Northern Family Service Specialist Academies, educating, inspiring and entertaining hundreds of DWSS employees; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada thanks Bill Strong for his years of dedicated service to the citizens and visitors of our great state and offers best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim June 2, 2020 as a day in honor of
