WHEREAS, Lieutenant Troy Barrett has served the State of Nevada with distinction and professional excellence for 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Troy began his career with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on August 29, 1995, as a police recruit, and upon conclusion of training, he started as a patrol officer; and

WHEREAS, Troy promoted multiple times over the years serving as a Detective, Patrol Sergeant and Patrol Lieutenant, working in many different units including burglary, sexual abuse, sexual assault, general assignment, sex offender apprehension management, internet crimes against children, and internal affairs; and

WHEREAS, Troy served as commander on a variety of task forces including the Nevada Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Southern Nevada Sex Offender Task Force; and

WHEREAS, as Patrol Lieutenant, Troy served as Watch Commander for the Las Vegas valley, Incident Commander on many large dynamic events, and assisted with public relations between the department and the media; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Lieutenant Troy Barrett for his years of service to the citizens and visitors of our great state and offers best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim December 30, 2020, as a day in honor of
