The city of Las Vegas and Downtown Vegas Alliance are partnering for a Successes & Insights event on the future of the Las Vegas Medical District. Stakeholders from the medical community along with developers and city of Las Vegas leaders will provide updates on the latest projects and planned development within the Las Vegas Medical District.

Moderated by city of Las Vegas Ward 1 Councilman, Brian Knudsen, the discussion will feature: Ryan Smith, director, Economic and Urban Development, city of Las Vegas; Dr. Mark Kahn, dean of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV; Shana M. Tello, academic and external affairs administrator at University Medical Center; Maureen Schafer, president and CEO of Nevada Health & Bioscience Corporation; Elias George, partner at EPG Law Group; John Curran, senior vice president of development at Prospect Street; and Toni Corbin, chief operating officer at Optum Care. In addition, city of Las Vegas officials from the Public Works, Community Development and Economic and Urban Development departments will provide updates.

The Las Vegas City Council established the Las Vegas Medical District (LVMD) in 1997 with the ultimate goal of bringing together a variety of medical partners to create an academic health center and a center of medicine for Southern Nevada.
