Special Ceremony Will Honor Nine Recipients of
Veteran of the Month or Veteran Supporter of the Month Award
(Las Vegas, Nev.) – Governor Steve Sisolak will honor nine recipients of the Veteran of the Month or the Veteran Supporter of the Month (VOM/VSM) award during an in-person ceremony on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11:30 a.m.
Members of the media who wish to attend are asked to contact NDVS Terri Hendry by calling or texting at 775-771-2800 or hendryt@veterans.nv.gov for more details.
The VOM/VSM recipients missed their in-person recognition with the Governor due to the pandemic. Two similar VOM/VSM ceremonies were held in November 2021 in Las Vegas and in Carson City on April 26, 2022, to honor both southern and northern Nevada recipients.
The VOM/VSM awards recognize the volunteer work done to benefit Nevada’s veterans, servicemembers and families. The public ceremonies provide recipients with the thanks they deserve and to raises awareness to the public in general about volunteer opportunities available to support or benefit Nevada’s veterans’ community. The names of the recipients are as follows:
January 2022 Martin Aguiar (VOM) Merri Perry (VSM) |
March 2022 Judge Mark Stevens (VOM) UNLV SVA (Andrew Ho) (VSM) |
