Governor Sisolak tours Tahoe South Events Center during Travel & Tourism Week

CARSON CITY, NV – May 05, 2022

Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak joined the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Tahoe Douglas Visitors Authority and South Tahoe Alliance of Resorts to tour the Tahoe South Events Center and present a proclamation to organizers in honor of Travel and Tourism Week in Nevada.

“Travel is such an important industry in our state – and vital to our economic success. That’s why I’m proud to proclaim National Travel and Tourism Week in Nevada while touring the Tahoe South Events Center today – to celebrate the future of travel,” Gov. Sisolak said. “This Center is a great opportunity to bring more tourism to the Lake Tahoe area outside of the summer and winter seasons – and is creating 330 full and part-time jobs for area residents."

The Tahoe South Events Center is expected to greatly bolster tourism in Northern Nevada – and will be host to entertainment and sporting events, meetings and conventions, and arts and cultural events. It is expected to hold about 130 events per year and is expected to be complete by Quarter 1 of 2023.
