THURSDAY: Governor Sisolak to pack meals with Helping Hands of Vegas Valley

LAS VEGAS, NV - April 20, 2022

Governor Steve Sisolak will join volunteers at Helping Hands of Vegas Valley on Thursday to pack meals for the week and discuss funds the non-profit received from the Community Recovery Grant.

Helping Hands of Vegas Valley was recently awarded $652,618, along with Carson City Senior Center for their respective nutrition programs. The grant will allow Helping Hands of Vegas Valley to continue their Rural Home Delivered Meals Program. This program is a supplemental meal delivery program that ships a 20-meal supply of semi-frozen and refrigerated meals to the doorstep of seniors in rural Nevada once a month.

Media is invited to join as the Governor packs the meals and loads them for delivery alongside volunteers. There will also be availability with the Governor and a representative from Helping Hands of Vegas Valley for brief interviews.

Media are asked to RSVP to no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday for additional details as to the timing, location and parking for the event.
