CARSON CITY, NV - March 09, 2022
Governor Sisolak will participate in an affordable housing roundtable with leaders from the City of Reno, Washoe County, and the City of Sparks to discuss housing. The discussion comes on the heels of the Governor’s State of the State address, where he announced the $500 million “Home Means Nevada” initiative.
State government, under the Governor’s leadership, continues to make historic investments in housing, including earmarking $300.7 million of Nevada’s 2021 tax-exempt bonding authority for the development of affordable housing projects throughout the state, and just yesterday, the State Board of Finance approved the issuance of over $150 million in tax-exempt revenue bonds to support 609 affordable multi-family housing units and additional funding for down payment assistance to first-time homebuyers.
A short media availability will take place at the conclusion of the event.
