Governor Sisolak Receives Flu Shot, Encourages Nevadans to be Flu Fighters

LAS VEGAS, NV - October 14, 2021

LAS VEGAS, NV – Highlighting the importance of vaccines amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak received his annual flu shot today in Las Vegas. The Governor was joined by team members from Immunize Nevada and Councilwoman Olivia Diaz.

“It’s officially flu season and right now is the time to get vaccinated against flu,” said Governor Sisolak. “Get your vaccine before the risk of exposure is high and there are cases of flu in your workplace, at your school, or in your friend group.”

An annual flu vaccination is recommended for everyone 6 months and older, every year. In Nevada, the flu vaccine is currently widely available statewide and getting vaccinated against the flu is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones against influenza and its potentially serious complications. This year’s flu vaccine protects against four different flu variants that are predicted to be the most prevalent.
