LAS VEGAS, NV - October 19, 2021
Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak and Nevada Treasurer Zach Conine concluded the Nevada Recovers Listening Tour.
The tour kicked off in early August aimed at allowing residents in every community to provide input on how to best utilize and invest the over $6.7 billion that will be received from the American Rescue Plan Act.
“We have spent a lot of time listening – and now, we’ve got to take action. We can no longer talk about building the Nevada we deserve. It’s time to build”, said Governor Sisolak. “We must strive to provide good jobs to every Nevadan and build a more resilient economy for our workforce and small businesses, and we must invest in and expand access to affordable child care and affordable housing. The success of our families and our community depends on it.”
Over the course of 75 days, more than 120 events were held throughout the State. And more than 2,500 proposals have been submitted for the Nevada Recovers plan.
“With this data, the Governor and the Legislature will be able to continue making these difficult decisions,” said Treasurer Conine. “The State will be coordinating directly with all of the entities who received part of that $6.7B to make sure that efforts for housing, childcare, broadband, small business support, and anything else are coordinated and as effective as possible.”
