Carson City, NV - January 23, 2020
Carson City, NV – Today, Governor Steve Sisolak announced that J. Brin Gibson tendered his resignation as the General Counsel for the Nevada Governor’s Office upon the acceptance of an exciting professional opportunity in the private sector. In the coming days, the Governor’s Office will announce the appointment of an Interim General Counsel who will serve in the position as they conduct an extensive search for a permanent replacement.
Gibson has served in his current role since the Governor assumed office on January 7, 2019. He is the top legal advisor to the Governor’s Office in policy, contract, and litigation matters and serves as chief liaison for a multitude of agencies within the Executive Branch.
"Brin’s sharp legal mind, extensive experience in both the public and private sector, and respect for the rule of law proved absolutely invaluable in guiding our office through a successful legislative session and the first year of my Administration,” Governor Sisolak said. “Beyond his well-deserved professional accolades and expertise, Brin is one of the most kind, honorable people I have ever met, and while we will miss him dearly, I couldn’t be happier for him and his family as they transition to this exciting new chapter.”
“It has been a great honor to serve as general counsel to the Governor and the Governor’s Office," said Brin Gibson. “I am proud of how many good things we have accomplished together to improve the lives of every Nevada family. I am grateful for the support the Governor and staff have provided me and my family as I embark on this new opportunity.”
