Seal of the State of Nevada



WHEREAS, on September 24, 2021, Robert T. Herbert passed away at the age of 64; and

WHEREAS, Major General Robert "Bob" T. Herbert had a distinguished career in public service that included many years serving in the Nevada National Guard and the U.S. Army, serving as a senior policy advisor to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and as the prima11' advisor to the Chief of the National Guard Bureau; and

WHEREAS, Bob Herbert had a distinguished career in aviation, which included serving as the Director of Aviation for the Nevada National Guard from 1995-2001. In 2000 he received the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award, as well as many other awards and commendations for his steadfast service; and

WHEREAS, Bob Herbert served in the U.S. Army from 1975 to 1982, and in the Nevada .Army National
Guard from 1995 to 2015. He earned a bachelor's degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a master's degree in public administration from George Washington University, and a master's degree from the National War College in Washington, D.C.; and

WHEREAS, we as a State mourn, remember, and honor Bob Herbert's memory and legacy of service to our Nation and our State.

NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada, it is hereby ordered as follows:

The flag of the State of Nevada shall be .flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and all State public buildings and grounds from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, October 2, 2021 in honor of Robert T. Herbert.
