
EXECUTIVE ORDER 2021-09
ORDERING FLAGS TO HALF STAFF HONORING CAPITOL POLICE OFFICErS
WHEREAS, on April 2, 2021, an attacker rammed his vehicle into a police barrier at the U.S. Capitol, killing one Capitol Police Officer and seriously injuring another Officer; and
WHEREAS, Nevadans mourn along with the friends and families of the victims of this senseless attack; and
WHEREAS, we, as a State, remember and honor those victims and their loved ones; and
WHEREAS, we condemn these violent acts and pray that the friends and families of the victims will be comforted by the outpouring of love and charity from their respective communities and from this nation;
NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada, and pursuant to the Proclamation issued by President Joseph R. Biden on April 2, 2021, and pursuant to section 7 of title 4 of the United States Code, it is hereby ordered as follows:
The flags of the United States and the State of Nevada shall be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and all State public buildings and grounds until sunset on April 6, 2021, in honor of the victims of this attack.
