Nevada Leads Nation in Job Growth for Eleven Straight Months
CARSON CITY, Nev. – Nevada continues to outpace every state in the nation on job creation, leading the country in year-over-year job growth for eleven consecutive months. New U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data show Nevada's total employment grew 1.8% over the past year – the highest growth rate in America.
Governor Joe Lombardo released the following statement after the announcement from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR):
"When businesses look across America for where to invest, expand, and hire, Nevada is increasingly at the top of the list,” said Governor Lombardo. “We're creating an environment where employers can grow, workers can succeed, and families can build a better future. Leading the nation in job growth for eleven straight months is a clear signal that our economic momentum is real and our future is bright.”
Since taking office, Governor Lombardo has prioritized pro-growth policies, lowered taxes, and eliminated burdensome regulations to strengthen Nevada's economy and improve the state's business climate. Those efforts have helped attract more than $6 billion in private-sector investment, while Nevada recently surpassed 1.6 million total jobs for the first time in state history.
