
WHEREAS, Nevada State employees are vital public servants who work passionately and tirelessly every day for the protection, security, and benefit of the residents of Nevada and visitors to the Silver State; and
WHEREAS, State employees serve Nevadans in critical and varied ways, including protecting our communities from crime, ensuring economic vitality and security, promoting tourism, building and maintaining roads and other infrastructure, fighting climate change, preserving Nevada's rich and diverse environment for future generations, helping Nevadans access good jobs, providing support for the education of Nevada's children, protecting public health, ensuring Nevada families have food and housing security, supporting vulnerable populations, and maintaining vital day-to-day operations of the State; and
WHEREAS, through the extraordinary challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, State employees served the public by adapting to challenges in order to continue to provide essential services to Nevadans; and
WHEREAS, through their service, State employees are the heartbeat of State government that keeps us resilient, bold, and moving forward; and
WHEREAS, we the people owe these dedicated public servants recognition, respect, and gratitude for their work on our behalf; and
WHEREAS, as Governor of the great State of Nevada, I am personally grateful for the tireless dedication the State employees demonstrate, and I am proud to serve as their Governor;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim the week of May 1 - 7, 2022, as
