WHEREAS, Paula K. Lemon is retiring from the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) after 33 years of loyal, dedicated, and exceptional public service to the State of Nevada ; and

WHEREAS, Paula began her career with the State of Nevada on January 17, 1989, as a Management Assistant at the Belrose District Office. Later that year she was promoted to Administrative Assistant I. In 1991, Paula assisted in the opening of the Charleston District Office before moving to the Henderson District Office in 1993 where she has been a mainstay for over 29 years; and

WHEREAS, Paula, managed the Community Work Experience Program (CWEP) for many years at the Henderson District Office and provided on-site, hands-on training to CWEP participants as well as many clerical trainees through the years;

WHEREAS, Paula has had a profound influence on most everyone she has encountered, distinguishing herself through her commitment and service throughout her career, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues; and

WHEREAS, Paula has served under the leadership of five Nevada Governors: Bob Miller, Kenny Quinn, Jim Gibbons, Brian Sandoval, and Steve Sisolak; and

WHEREAS, in honor of Paula and in recognition of her significant contributions to the State of Nevada, the State, colleagues, friends and co-workers would like to thank and commend her for her years of dedication, devotion and honorable service, and extend their best wishes for a healthy, happy, prosperous, and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim October 14, 2022, as a day in honor of
