
WHEREAS, on March 31, 2022, Mary Mullins is retiring from the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services after over 28 years of loyal, diligent, and exceptional public service to the State of Nevada; and
WHEREAS, Mary began her professional career with the State of Nevada on March 28, 1994. Over her career she held positions with the Gaming Board, Child Support and the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS); and
WHEREAS, Mary worked many years as a Family Services Specialist and was promoted to a Family Services Supervisor in October 2013 within DWSS. Mary's extensive knowledge and experience in the Medical Assistance for the Aged, Blind and Disabled (MAABD) program has made her a great resource for Nevadans who were in need, elderly or disabled. Mary ensured they had a place to sleep, nutritious food to eat, and proper medical care; and
WHEREAS, Mary displayed exceptional commitment and dedication throughout her decades of service with the State of Nevada, and through her service to her fellow citizens, she can leave her position with dignity, and grace, knowing that she has made a positive difference in our community; and
WHEREAS, by her commitment and service throughout the years Mary has distinguished herself within DWSS and she will be sincerely missed, both professionally and personally, by all who have had the pleasure and good fortune to work with her; and
WHEREAS, Mary has served under five Nevada Governors, Bob Miller, Kenny Guinn, Jim Gibbons, Brian Sandoval and Steve Sisolak, as well as numerous Welfare Administrators, and has supervised, trained and mentored case managers, lead workers and administrative assistants; and
WHEREAS, in honor of Mary and in recognition of her significant contributions to the State of Nevada, her friends and co-workers would like to thank and commend her for twenty-eight years of devoted and honorable service, and extend their best wishes for a healthy, happy, prosperous and fulfilling retirement;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2022, as a day in honor of
