WHEREAS, Assemblywoman Maggie Carlton has proudly and nobly served the State of Nevada in the State Legislature for 24 years; and

WHEREAS, she began her distinguished legislative career when she was elected as a State Senator in 1998, where she served until she was elected to the Nevada Assembly in 2010; and

WHEREAS, Assemblywoman Carlton is the first member of the State Legislature to serve the maximum number of terms in both the State Assembly and State Senate; and

WHEREAS, during her time as a member of the State Assembly Assemblywomen Carlton has been a fierce advocate for working Nevadans, never forgetting her roots as a strong member of Culinary 226; and

WHEREAS, Assemblywoman Carlton has also served as chair of the Assembly Ways and Means Committee since 2017; and

WHEREAS, she has also served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Interim Finance Committee at various times, and Chair or member of numerous other committees, boards, and commissions; and

WHEREAS, Assemblywoman Carlton serves as the Executive Director of the United Labor Agency of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, she is married to Merritt Carlton and is the parent of two daughters; and

WHEREAS, Assemblywoman Carlton leaves behind a historic legislative record and legacy that no other Nevada legislator has ever surpassed, and 2022 will mark the last year of her 24 years of unmatched service in the Nevada Legislature; and

WHEREAS, on behalf of the residents of the State of Nevada, I thank and commend Assemblywoman Maggie Carlton for her many years of devoted and honorable service to our Silver State and wish her continued success in all of her future endeavors;
