Seal of the State of Nevada

WHEREAS, World Inclusion Day was founded in 2020 by The Garden Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving adults with disabilities in the city of Las Vegas; and

WHEREAS, World Inclusion Day was founded to bring awareness to and celebrate the need for inclusion and kindness within our community; and

WHEREAS, inclusion is accepting, supporting and embracing differences and diversity in a way that clearly shows all individuals are valued, recognized, and accepted for who they truly are; and

WHEREAS, embracing World Inclusion Day values involves demonstrating respect for the abilities, beliefs, backgrounds, and cultures of those around you and engaging those with diverse perspectives, so that others feel an unconditional sense of belonging for who they are; and

WHEREAS, in Nevada, World Inclusion Day is a day dedicated to celebrating people of all abilities, backgrounds, ages, races, religions, and genders and to embrace the inherent value people with different abilities demonstrate;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim October 10, 2021, as

WORLD INCLUSION DAY IN NEVADA
