WHEREAS, more than 570 Nevadans and nearly 100,000 people in the US are in need of an organ transplant; and

WHEREAS, on average, 133 people are added to the nation's organ transplant waiting list each day, one every 11 minutes; and

WHEREAS, approximately 20 people in the United States die each day waiting for an organ transplant and one organ, eye, and tissue and donor can heal more than 75 people; and

WHEREAS, every person, regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, or economic status, has the power and the potential to transform a life through organ, eye, and tissue donation; and

WHEREAS, registering as an organ and tissue donor at a local Department of Motor Vehicles signifies our fundamental human responsibility to help others;
