
WHEREAS, Peter Long has served the State of Nevada with distinction and professional excellence for over twenty-five-years; and
WHEREAS, Peter served more than two decades of loyal, conscientious, and outstanding public service managing and working in human resources to effectively improve employee and agency relations and successfully develop and implement centralized human resource services; and
WHEREAS, Peter was instrumental in the implementation of new Human Resource Information Systems and functions that have improved the day-to-day operations of the State of Nevada, its employees, and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Peter participated in the first nationally recognized Certified Public Manager (CPM) training course offered by the State of Nevada in 2005, a professional certification which prepares managers for increasingly complex and demanding governmental issues; and
WHEREAS, Peter dedicated his career to the State of Nevada, Division of Human Resource Management, a decision that has brought great advantages to the State of Nevada and the Division of Human Resource Management; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Nevada and his fellow employees benefited from his dedication, and he will be greatly missed by all who worked with him; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Peter Long on his outstanding tenure as a dedicated State employee and joins his family, friends, and colleagues in extending sincere appreciation for his years of service, with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;
