
WHEREAS, Mr. Edward Kelley has served the State of Nevada with distinction and professional excellence for more than 36 years primarily as a Social Work Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kelley graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and in 1991 graduated with a master’s degree in Science Counseling and Educational Psychology and Foundations; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kelley began his career in state service on March 1, 1985 at the Oasis Group Home Program for Southern Nevada Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, and in 1992 he began working with the aging population where he spent the majority of his career through its' progression into Aging and Disability Services Division; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, Mr. Kelley was integral to the development of the Community Based Care Unit, designed to give Nevadans opportunities to remain living in their community, fostering improved quality of life while achieving greater independence; and
WHEREAS, through his dedication and tireless efforts, Mr. Kelley provided exceptional professional service to the residents of the Silver State, demonstrating great commitment to his work over the years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kelley's professionalism, unwavering dedication, and tireless advocacy are highly respected by the people he has served while exemplifying care, compassion, and commitment to Nevada's most vulnerable residents; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Mr. Edward Kelley on his outstanding tenure as a dedicated State employee and joins his family, friends and colleagues in extending sincere appreciation for his years of service, with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim April 1, 2021 as a day in honor of
EDWARD KELLEY
