Governor Sisolak receives COVID-19 booster shot of Moderna Vaccine at University Medical

LAS VEGAS, NV – October 27, 2021

With the most recent recommendation that eligible Americans receive the COVID-19 booster, today Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak received a dose of the Moderna vaccine booster shot at University Medical Center (UMC) in Las Vegas.

Gov. Sisolak, who was eligible due to his age, originally received a single dose of Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVI-19 vaccine on March 11, 2021.

The Governor was joined by infection disease specialist, Dr. Shadaba Asad, MD from UMC, who answered questions from the media as well as encouraged all Nevadans to get their boosters ––or first shots––if they hadn’t done so already. Additionally, Gov. Sisolak and Dr. Asad outlined the criteria for the boosters and mentioned that rollout details for vaccines for children ages 5-11 would be forthcoming once approved.
