Governor Sisolak Appoints Kyle George as Interim General Counsel for Governor’s Office

Carson City, NV - January 24, 2020

Today, Governor Steve Sisolak announced the appointment of Kyle E. N. George as Interim General Counsel for the Governor’s Office, effective Monday, January 27, 2020.

“As Attorney General Aaron Ford’s top legal advisor, Kyle has proven himself to be an adept state prosecutor, leader, and senior advisor, and I am confident he will apply that same skillset, strong work ethic, and passion for public service in the Governor’s Office,” said Governor Sisolak. “Kyle’s deep ties to Nevada, including its rural community, brings a unique perspective to my office that will help us continue our fight for families all across our great State.”

Since June 2019, George has served as First Assistant Attorney General under Attorney General Aaron Ford. He initially joined AG Ford’s office in January 2019 as the Special Assistant Attorney General and Counsel for Prosecuting Attorneys. In that role, he served as the liaison between the AG’s Office and law enforcement agencies and prosecutors statewide. He also served on the office’s legislative team. Prior to joining the AG’s Office, George worked as the Chief Deputy District Attorney in Mineral County while also maintaining a private practice. He previously served as counsel and policy advisor to two Members of the Nevada congressional delegation.

George earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, and he holds a M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. While at UNLV, he served as President of the Graduate and Professional Student Association and Chair of the Nevada Student Alliance.
