Today, Governor Steve Sisolak announced the appointment of Geoconda Argüello-Kline and the reappointment of Steve Hill as Chair to the Las Vegas Stadium Authority Board of Directors (“Stadium Authority”).
“I'm pleased to reappoint Steve Hill as Chair and appoint Geoconda Argüello-Kline to the Stadium Authority,” Governor Sisolak said. “I'm confident that Steve’s steady leadership and expertise, combined with Geo’s deep understanding of Nevada’s service industry and experience in workforce development will create necessary continuity and dynamic representation on this Board.”
Argüello-Kline has worked in the hospitality industry in Las Vegas for more than thirty years. She currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer for the Culinary Workers Union, Local 226, which represents more than 60,000 Culinary Union members throughout the city. She also holds the following positions: Vice President of the UNITE- HERE International Union; Trustee of the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas; Trustee of the Culinary Pension Fund; Trustee of the Health and Welfare Fund; Trustee of the St. Louis Square; Trustee of the UNITE HERE Health; Chair Women of the Board of the IWCP (Citizenship Project); and Committee Member for the Center for American Progress Advisory Board.
The Governor also reappointed Steve Hill, the current President/COO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVVCVA), as Chair of the Stadium Authority Board of Directors. Prior to joining LVCVA in 2018, Mr. Hill served as the director of the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED), having been appointed to the position in 2011 by Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval.
