EXECUTIVE ORDER 2022-10

ORDERING FLAGS TO HALF STAFF HONORING THE MEMORY OF ABE SHINZO

WHEREAS, on July 8, 2022, Abe Shinzo was attacked and killed as he was giving a campaign
speech;and

WHEREAS, Abe Shinzo was the longest serving Prime Minister of Japan, who worked with
American presidents of both parties to deepen the alliance between our nations; and

WHEREAS, as a mark of respect for the memory of Abe Shinzo, former Prime Minister of Japan;
and

WHEREAS, Article 5, Section 1 of the Nevada Constitution provides that, "The Supreme
Executive Power of this State shall be vested in a Chief Magistrate who shall be Governor of the State of Nevada."

NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada and the laws of the United States, and pursuant to the Proclamation issued by President Joseph R. Biden on July 8, 2022, it is hereby ordered as follows:

The flags of the United States and the State of Nevada shall be flown at half-staff at the
State Capitol and all State public buildings and grounds until sunset on July 10, 2022, in
honor of Abe Shinzo.
