Seal of the State of Nevada



WHEREAS, on June 10, 2022, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Detective Justin Terry tragically passed away while in the line of duty; and

WHEREAS, Detective Terry was a dedicated public servant for more than two decades with LVMPD; and

WHEREAS, Detective Terry served with strength and integrity touching the lives of countless community members from the time he began his career in the Southeast Area Command, where he expanded access to provide resources to the homeless community, through his time serving on the Sexual Offender Apprehension Detail (SOAP) as a distinguished detective; and

WHEREAS, Detective Terry is survived by his wife and two sons; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada is indebted to Detective Terry for his service;

NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada, and pursuant to section 7 of title 4 of the United States Code, it is hereby ordered as follows:

The flags of the United States and the State of Nevada shall be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and all State public buildings and grounds from sunrise until sunset on June 20, 2022, in honor of Justin Terry.
