EXECUTIVE ORDER 2022-02 (Amended)


WHEREAS, on February 14, 2022, Robert Edgar Rose passed away at the age of 82; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Rose was a dedicated and respected public servant for over four decades, serving as lieutenant governor from 1975 to 1979, being appointed to the Eighth Judicial District Court in 1986, and being elected to the Nevada Supreme Court in 1988, where he served from 1989 until 2007; and

WHEREAS, as both a jurist and as Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court, Mr. Rose was a valued and respected professional who served with courage and integrity; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Rose advocated to modernize and expand the Nevada Supreme Court, making a lasting impact on this State's judicial system.

NOW, THEREFORE, The flags of the United States and the State of Nevada shall be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and all State public buildings and grounds from sunrise until sunset on April 14, 2022, in honor of Robert Edgar Rose.
