EXECUTIVE ORDER 2021-19

ORDERING FLAGS TO HALF HONORING THE VICTIMS OF THE ATTACK IN KABUL, AFGHANISTAN

WHEREAS, on August 26, 2021, U.S. service members and other victims were killed in a terrorist attack in Kabul, Afghanistan; and

WHEREAS, Nevadans mourn along with the Nation and the families and friends of the victims of this attack; and,

WHEREAS, we as a State remember and honor those U.S. service members and other victims and their loved ones; and,

WHEREAS, we condemn these terrorist attacks and pray that the friends and families of the victims will be comforted by the outpouring of love and charity from their respective communities and from this Nation;

NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada, and pursuant to the Proclamation issued by President Joseph R. Biden on August 26, 2021, and pursuant to section 7 of title 4 of the United States Code, it is hereby ordered as follows:

The flags of the United States and the State of Nevada shall be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and all State public buildings and grounds until sunset on August 30, 2021, in honor of the victims of this attack.
