
EXECUTIVE ORDER 2021-06
ORDERING FLAGS TO HALF STAFF
HONORING THE 5,000 NEVADANS WHO LOST THEIR LIVES TO COVID-19
WHEREAS, as of February 22, 2021, more than 500,000 Americans have died from the COVID-19 virus; and
WHEREAS, as of March 4, 2021, more than 5,000 Nevadans have died from the COVID-19 virus; and
WHEREAS, this historic loss of life has impacted families throughout Nevada; and
WHEREAS, we as a State remember and honor those lost and acknowledge their loved ones left behind; and
WHEREAS, we remember those lost to COVID-19 so that we can begin to heal, to unite, and to find purpose to defeat this pandemic together;
NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada, it is hereby ordered as follows:
The flag of the State of Nevada shall be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and all State public buildings and grounds until sunset on March 5, 2021, in honor of the 5,000 Nevadans who have lost their lives to COVID-19.
