Seal of the State of Nevada



WHEREAS, legendary illusionist Siegfried Fischbacher was born on June 13, 1939, in Rosenheim, Germany, drawn to magic at a young age when discovering a book about magic in a shop he was visiting;

WHEREAS, Siegfried Fischbacher, 'Master of the Impossible', met the late Roy Horn in 1957 while both working on a cruise ship where they began a lifelong partnership that helped shine a bright spotlight on the entertainment industry in Las Vegas;

WHEREAS, in 1967, Siegfried and Roy made their first appearance on the Las Vegas Strip, incorporating their love for animals in their acts, later starring in 'Siegfried and Roy at the Mirage', which quickly became a popular, family friendly show known across the globe;

WHEREAS, over the course of his career, Siegfried Fischbacher delivered surprise and joy to thousands of visitors from around the world with their performances here in Nevada, and he will be sincerely missed;

WHEREAS, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada, and pursuant to section 7 of title 4 of the United States Code, it is hereby ordered as follows:

The flags of the State of Nevada shall be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and all state public buildings and grounds from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, as a mark of respect and in remembrance of Siegfried Fischbachcr.
