EXECUTIVE ORDER 2019-04

ORDERING FLAGS TO HALF STAFF

WHEREAS, former Michigan Congressman John David Dingell, Jr. has passed away at the age of 92;

WHEREAS, Congressman Dingell has the distinction of being the longest-serving member of Congress in the history of the United States;

WHEREAS, Congressman Dingell was a champion against government and corporate fraud and on behalf of the residents of the State of Michigan;

WHEREAS, Congressman Dingell was one of the Nation's great advocates for working families and for "ordinary citizens";

WHEREAS, Article 5, Section 1 of the Nevada Constitution provides that, "The supreme executive power of this State, shall be vested in a Chief Magistrate who shall be Governor of the State of Nevada."

NOW, THEREFORE by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Nevada and the United States, I hereby direct and order:

The flags of the United States and the State of Nevada shall be flown at half staff at the State Capitol and state public buildings and grounds until sunset on Saturday, February 09, 2019.
