WHEREAS, the Olympia Companies Charitable Foundation began its work on April 1, 2000, with the establishment of the Governor’s Black-Tie Event hosted by Olympia Companies’ founder Garry Goett in partnership with Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn; and

WHEREAS, the Foundation adopted a mission to give back to the Community through a myriad of charitable events and fundraisers that call upon the most philanthropic and successful businesses and donors by asking that they collectively support noteworthy organizations and programs that directly serve families and children in need throughout Nevada; and

WHEREAS, the Olympia Companies Charitable Foundation has served to benefit over 26 local charities giving back 27 million dollars to this community and most notably raising funds to construct and operate the prestigious Southern Highlands Boys and Girls Club, to send hundreds of critically ill children to summer camp, to clothe thousands of local at-risk students, and to tutor and provide programming for so many more; and

WHEREAS, the 2024 Governor’s Black-Tie Event denotes the culmination of 24 years of dedicated and innovative work by the entire Olympia Companies’ team, and the completion of this year’s Event will mark the commencement of the Foundation’s 25th Anniversary celebration; and

WHEREAS, the Olympia Companies Charitable Foundation exemplifies a spirit of giving that fosters positive change across Nevada through tireless dedication and innovative initiatives, and their collective work has touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those it serves; and

WHEREAS, Olympia Companies’ legacy extends far beyond its business endeavors, echoing in the hallways of hospitals, classrooms, museums, and tutoring centers moving out to the open spaces of summer camps and recreational facilities all while resonating in the homes of families in need; and

WHEREAS, the past 24 years of unwavering commitment to charity and community enrichment displayed by the Olympia Companies deserve immense recognition, and we look forward to celebrating with the Foundation and its beneficiaries as we mark the commencement of their 25th Anniversary year, which ushers in a quarter of a century of remarkable and compassionate philanthropy;
