WHEREAS, the State of Nevada remains committed to ensuring all residents have the resources needed to lead productive and fulfilling lives, while recognizing that mental health is critical to our individual and collective well-being; and

WHEREAS, tools to develop resilience are needed during challenging times, as stress, anxiety and feelings of loneliness or isolation have increased as we all face the COVID-19 pandemic; and

WHEREAS, prevention, early intervention and crisis services are essential to supporting mental health, and access to behavioral health services continues to be a priority for Nevada as we build upon the implementation of suicide prevention and crisis stabilization services and support; and

WHEREAS, recovery is self-directed and strives to help individuals, families and communities meet their full potential; and

WHEREAS, Mental Health Awareness Month is an opportunity to help end the stigma surrounding mental illness and to provide information and resources that increase a sense of safety and connectedness across our state to help Nevadans live healthier lives;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH IN NEVADA
