WHEREAS, Jayme Esplin has served Clark County and the State of Nevada with distinction and professional excellence for more than 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Jayme began his career in the Child Welfare system in 1989 with the Division of Child and Family Services, providing support in his positions as a Foster Care Social Worker, Child Protective Services Investigator and Social Work Supervisor until transitioning to the Clark County Department of Family Services in 2014; and

WHEREAS, he formed strong professional relationships with state and local officials throughout his career, creating accountability and effective policies to improve services for children and families; and

WHEREAS, Jayme was instrumental in the implementation of the Department of Family Services’ safety practice model enhancing the safety, permanency and well-being of Nevada’s children; and

WHEREAS, the citizens of Nevada and fellow employees benefitted greatly from Jayme’s dedication and he will be sincerely missed by all who have had the pleasure and good fortune to work with him; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada commends Jayme Esplin for his years of service to the citizens and visitors of our great state and offers best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim January 10, 2020, as a day in honor of
