
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada and the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) have worked closely with Poland in establishing several memoranda of understanding and agreements on joint acceleration programs under the Nevada Global platform; and
WHEREAS, Poland and Nevada have robust cultural and economic ties, which has resulted in an increase in business relations and numerous Polish-owned businesses operating across the state, including the Carson City-based POLAM Precising Machining; and
WHEREAS, the Robinson Mine is the biggest Polish investment in the United States and a major producer of copper in Nevada; and
WHEREAS, 15,000 Poles and 40,000 Americans of Polish descent are living in the Silver State; and
WHEREAS, the President of the Republic of Poland and Nevada officials will commence Polish Business and Innovation Week in Nevada; and
WHEREAS, the State of Nevada recognizes the importance of the economic and trade relationship between Poland and Nevada, including the contributions of Polish businesses and residents, and looks forward to many more years of cooperation, friendship, trade, education, innovation and goodwill;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, STEVE SISOLAK, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim June 16 – 22, 2019, as
POLISH BUSINESS AND INNOVATION WEEK IN NEVADA
